Do I need to be vaccinated to participate in a clinic?
GDR highly encourages, but does not require volunteers to be vaccinated to join a project.
Do I need a negative test to participate in a clinic?
Yes. 24 hours prior to “Day 1” of the GDR project, volunteers need to submit a negative antigen COVID test, which can be self-administered or professionally administered.
During the clinic, GDR trip leaders will provide rapid tests for volunteers to self-administer. Volunteers agree to test on an intermittent basis during the clinic.
What happens if I get sick during a clinic?
In the event that a volunteer becomes sick during the clinic, they should notify their trip leader via phone or email and immediately isolate themselves from the rest of the group.
GDR will help the sick volunteer arrange accommodation and meals and help change return flight to the U.S. as needed. GDR has set up a volunteer COVID fund to help underwrite costs of medical care, accommodation and transportation home for volunteers.
