Global Dental Relief volunteers have worked in India since 2004.  The adventure in this vast country begins as you take a spectacular flight from the nation’s capital of Delhi to one of two Global Dental Relief locations.

On the Original Trip, volunteers fly to Ladakh, located on the Tibetan Plateau where the clinic is set up in a children’s hostel in the small town of Leh at 12,000 feet.

Volunteers serve village children from a fascinating mix of Muslim, Hindu and Buddhist populations. Free time is spent exploring the culturally fascinating town of Leh and visiting age-old Buddhist monasteries perched on the highest hilltops.

For GDR’s Small Adventure, volunteers fly to the Darjeeling region, renown for its tea and famous hill towns perched atop steep, tea covered hillsides.

Volunteers live and work at the Kurseong Monastery, featuring a beautiful new guesthouse and clinic with magnificent views of the surrounding misty hills.  The clinic brings first time dental care to the children of Kurseong and adjacent monasteries.

At clinic’s end, volunteers visit Darjeeling and enjoy an overnight stay at the end of the trip.  You must be a return volunteer or have significant international travel experience to join this adventure.
