Global Dental Relief expanded to Kenya in 2013.  Clinics are held in partnership with the Kikuyu Hospital Dental Clinic, situated in the Kikuyu-Karen area outside of Nairobi. Surrounded by picturesque acacia trees, the area offers respite from the congestion and hubbub of the capital city.

Working in a fully equipped dental clinic, GDR volunteers spend five days alongside their Kenyan colleagues, serving hundreds of broadly smiling children from nearby schools.

Volunteers stay in a basic guesthouse in the hospital compound.  A highlight each day is the walk to clinic through the surrounding community, passing local vendors and a bustling populace heading off for work or school. Evenings and time off are spent exploring the rich African culture and the beautiful environs of Karen.

Following each clinic, volunteers may join a safari to the renowned Maasai Mara National Park – a stirring landscape with an incredible abundance of wildlife.
